Almanac

The World Almanac® for Kids is a popular research tool and reference database that provides information on a variety of topics including people, countries, animals, the environment, and history. The World Almanac for Kids also includes maps and other related graphics.

  1. Select The World Almanac for Kids from the Home Page.

  2. Two search methods display.

 

Table of Contents locates topics through an index of chapters and subchapters. This method is useful for browsing and becoming familiar with the contents of the database. Use Table of Contents search when you have a general idea of your research subject.

Keyword Search locates topics based on your own combination of words. This search method allows users to pinpoint specific information using key words and Boolean Operators.

  1. Click Table of Contents on the Almanac Main Menu.

  2. An alphabetical topic list displays.

  1. Select a topic to view articles related to that topic.

  2. Click Keyword Search on the Almanac Main Menu.

  3. Enter key words or phrases and select Search.

  4. Article results display in alphabetical order. Select an article to view.
